Artist Statement

Finding the hidden gems occurring naturally in wood is a newfound joy. The rewards have been immeasurable. Once unique forms are uncovered and properly sourced, the challenge becomes finding creative ways to utilize that beauty in a functional, purposeful, and marketable way. I strive to enhance the natural beauty of wood with fine craftsmanship, creativity, and a modicum of wabi sabi to produce quality furniture and pieces that delight the senses both visually and ergonomically. I focus on transforming commonly seen forms into uncommon, unique, lasting products that will encourage the user’s mind to wander with curiosity. I want my passion for woodworking to translate into interesting woodwork that pays homage to both nature and the end consumer.
